IUIS Council 2007 - 2010

The Council of IUIS comprises five officers and 16 ordinary members elected from delegates of the member societies at the triennial General Assembly. As far as possible, Council members are elected to be broadly representative of pure and applied immunology and the major geographic areas encompassed by IUIS. The rules for their election are specified in the Constitution. Committee chairs, delegates of Regional Federations and delegates of International Affiliated Organizations are also members of the Council ex officio.

The current members of Council, listed below, were elected at the General Assembly held in August 2007 in Rio de Janeiro during the 13th International Congress of Immunology. This Council will serve until the next General Assembly, to be held in 2010 in Kobe, Japan, during the 14th International Congress of Immunology. The Vice-President would normally then become President and the immediate Past President would serve for a further term ex officio.
