IUIS - International union of immunological societies

IUIS was accepted as a member of the International Council for Science (previously the International Council of Scientific Unions) in 1976. This is the highest international organization for interaction between scientific unions. The member of IUIS with responsibility for liaison with ICSU is listed below.

As a non-governmental organization, IUIS was admitted into official relations with the World Health Organization by the Executive Board of WHO at its 49th session (January 1972). The member of IUIS with responsibility for liaison with WHO is listed below.

IUIS is also an associate member of the Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences (C.I.O.M.S.).

Five international scientific societies are formally affiliated with IUIS. Each of these societies is entitled to appoint a delegate to the General Assembly and to the IUIS Council. The current presidents and secretaries of these societies are listed below.
