The annual Day of Immunology is just around the corner on April 29, 2019! The day is dedicated to increasing global awareness of the importance of immunology in the fight against infection, autoimmunity and cancer. The IUIS and EFIS are working together to encourage national societies to participate in the Day of Immunology and to promote the benefits of immunology research.

IVIS 2019 Abstract Submission Extended

The abstract submission deadline for IVIS 2019, the International Veterinary Immunology Symposium has been extended to 15 March! https://ivis2019.org/abstract-submission/ Participation at IVIS (13-16 August in Seattle) gives you the opportunity to explore the most recent advances in veterinary immunology with interactivity. The program includes scientific sessions around a variety of relevant and cutting-edge themes, as well as workshops and networking sessions to enhance interactions. The Scientific Advisory Committee welcomes the submission of original contributions for oral and poster presentation. Submit your abstract by 15 March! https://ivis2019.org

Two Immunologists Win 2018 Nobel Prize!

 

IUIS congratulates James Allison and Tasuku Honjo on their Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2018 "for their discovery of cancer therapy by inhibition of negative immune regulation." The prize recognises the fundamental immunology research that led to the introduction of immune checkpoint inhibitors for cancer treatment.
