Immunotherapies: from Bench to Bed Side (Nov. 1-2, 2010)

Buenos Aires

The Course organized by the Argentinian Society of Immunology and AMSUD Pasteur Network was a success. It presented talks on new vaccine developments including immunotherapies for respiratory infections and tuberculosis, genetic vaccines such as those using dendritic cell (DC) to target tumors and infectious diseases, and anti-CD3 in diabetes. It also discussed the role of tolerogenic DC in autoimmunity and transplantation, and the DC-T cell synapse as a determinant of autoimmune pathogenesis. Melanoma vaccines and the use of monoclonal antibodies in oncohematology and practical approaches to immunotherapy were also presented. There were 15 faculty from France and Latin America and 37 participants from Latine America. 13 PhD students received a fellowship to attend the meeting.
